Want to know that your adopters are educated in the proper care of their new pup and that they have the knowhow, resources, awareness and support to be the best pet parents they can be throughout the entirety of the pup’s life? Join our collaboration program and become a part of our mission to create educated and loving pet owners while reducing the number of homeless pets ending up in shelters every single day! LearningFurLove needs you to make reducing these numbers a reality!

How it Works:

It is simple and costs you nothing and will not take away from the time the dogs under your care so desperately need, we only ask that you require your adopters complete the LearningFurLove Responsible Pet Ownereship, Awareness and Preparedness Course as a condition of adoption giving LearningFurLove the ability to ensure that as many new pet owners are properly prepared for their pet ownership journey resulting in less surrenders, abandonment and neglect and that you maintain a standard of care at your premises expected of rescue organizations. You send them to the Learningfurlove site to complete the course, they purchase the course through the site, you don’t have to handle the money at all, and you simply log in to verify their completion. That’s all there is to it.

Schedule a Walkthrough: After submitting your information, our team will review it and contact you within seven days to schedule either a physical walkthrough of your premises or a FaceTime video walkthrough. During this walkthrough, we’ll assess your facilities and required information.
Sign the Contract/ Final Approval: If your premises meet our standards and requirements, we’ll provide you with final approval and give you access to our private collaborator forums and resources on the LearningFurLove website where you will then esign and submit your collaboration contract. This step confirms your commitment to our collaboration program.

Summary of LearningFurLove Collaboration Contract Requirements:

Purpose: The contract establishes the mandatory requirement of LearningFurLove’s course for all adoptions from the Collaborator’s facility.
Course Participation: Collaborator must ensure adopters complete LFL’s course, provided at no cost by LFL. Arrangements can be made for combined adoption and course fees.
Onsite Walk-Throughs: LFL may conduct walk-throughs or virtual tours of the Collaborator’s facility to ensure compliance with standards set by LFL, with a minimum frequency of once every two years.
Compliance with Standards: Collaborator must meet the standards set by LFL and provide contact information for their regular veterinarian.
Compliance Process: Non-compliance may result in warnings and termination of collaboration if standards are not met within specified timeframes.
Membership Revocation: LFL reserves the right to revoke collaboration if compliance is not achieved after two walk-throughs.
Alternative Walk-Throughs: The method of facility verification will be determined by LFL management.
Initial Approval: Initial approval for collaboration is based on a facility tour.
Governing Law and Dispute Resolution: Disputes are subject to mediation and arbitration following the laws of the state where the facility resides.

Termination: Either party may terminate the contract with notice.
Collaborator must be LearningFurLove Certified and will be provided with the course free of charge.

Collaboration Purpose and Independence Statement:

Purpose: Collaboration aims to enhance pet welfare through educational initiatives.
Independence and Financial Arrangements: Both parties maintain independence, and no financial obligations are required.
Lobbying and Advocacy: Rescue Organization shall not directly participate in LFL’s advocacy and lobbying efforts.
Transparency: Both parties commit to transparency in their roles and contributions.
Non-Profit Status: Rescue Organization affirms commitment to maintaining non-profit status.
Effective Date and Signatures: Agreement is effective upon signing and remains in force until terminated.
